Cas­sel­man ex­tends streak

Ryan Cas­sel­man’s goal 8:01 into the first pe­riod proved to be the game-win­ner and also ex­tended his Tod Divi­sion sea­son-high con­sec­u­tive-game point streak to 20 as the Na­pa­nee Raiders blanked the Gananoque Is­landers 6-0 in a Pro­vin­cial Ju­nior Hockey League game Tues­day night in Na­pa­nee.

Cas­sel­man added an as­sist in the sec­ond pe­riod to up his sea­son to­tal to 114 points (46 goals, 68 as­sists).

Dur­ing his 20-game point streak, which started on Nov. 19, Cas­sel­man has col­lected 63 points.

Team-wise, the win kept the club on pace to set a new lo­cal ju­nior C sin­gle-sea­son points record. With a 35-2-0-1 record and two games left, the Raiders have 71 points, three shy of the record held by the 201314 Pic­ton Pi­rates and the 2008-09 Raiders.

Josh Mur­phy scored twice for Na­pa­nee, with Cullen Hinds, Ri­ley Steeves and Ja­cob Mur­phy net­ting one goal apiece.
