Po­lice search­ing for man for ‘health rea­sons’

Kingston Po­lice are search­ing for a man “for health rea­sons.”

The lo­cal force sent out an alert Fri­day af­ter­noon re­quest­ing the pub­lic to call them if they seen the man. He was last seen walk­ing in the area of Hick­son Av­enue and Mon­treal Street.

He is de­scribed as be­ing cau­casian and in his late 20’s, about five-foot-five, 150-pounds, blue eyes, and blonde hair. He was last seen wear­ing a black Kingston Fron­tenac’s jersey with dirty blue jeans. A photo was not pro­vided. Res­i­dents are asked to call Kingston Po­lice at 613-549-4660 if he is seen.

Drugs seized in raid

A large amount of crack co­caine and var­i­ous other drug were found af­ter Kingston Po­lice raided an apart­ment on Col­lege Street on Thurs­day.

Lo­cal po­lice said in a news re­lease its Street Crime Unit had been in­ves­ti­gat­ing the ac­tiv­i­ties sur­round­ing the apart­ment for some time. It was granted a search warrant and of­fi­cers ex­e­cuted it at about 12:30 p.m.

A man and woman were found in­side the apart­ment, in the rear bed­room. The woman was ap­pre­hended as she tried to es­cape through a win­dow. On the ground next to the woman, of­fi­cers found a large quan­tity of crack co­caine.

In the bed­room, of­fi­cers ob­served a ta­ble set up for mak­ing and pack­ag­ing crack co­caine. Of­fi­cers also found co­caine, crys­tal metham­phetamine, heroin, and mor­phine pills. Of­fi­cers also seized pack­ag­ing ma­te­ri­als, dig­i­tal scales, debt lists, and Cana­dian cur­rency.

A 55-year-old man and 39-yearold woman, both of Kingston, were charged jointly with four counts of pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, and pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime. The woman was also charged with breach­ing her un­der­tak­ing.

Thieves cap­tured try­ing to flee on ebikes

A man and woman were ar­rested early Thurs­day morn­ing af­ter wit­nesses saw them break­ing into a store.

Kingston Po­lice said that of­fi­cers were called at about 7 a.m. for a break and en­ter at a busi­ness in the 500-block of Gardiners Road. A wit­ness first saw a woman and man with e-bikes at the back of the busi­ness, then the woman throw­ing bags of prop­erty out onto the ground from a trailer at­tached to the build­ing.

When po­lice ar­rived the woman fled on her bike. The man with a sec­ond e-bike, was lo­cated still on­site. The woman was ap­pre­hended shortly af­ter­wards in a park­ing lot off Bath Road. Both were ar­rested and the e-bikes were seized.

A 35-year-old man and 32-yearold woman, both from Kingston, were jointly charged with break­ing and en­ter­ing, pos­ses­sion of breakin tools, and pos­ses­sion of prop­erty ob­tained by crime. They spent the night in po­lice cus­tody to at­tend bail court on Fri­day.
