Residents artistic talents on show
Groupe Maurice residence Le Savignon residents came together to fundraise for the Lachine Hospital Foundation. Senior Hélène Santerre suggested that they sell an object to benefit the Foundation. Their efforts yielded $2250 which was donated on Thursday, September 28.
«It is amazing what creative people can do when inspired to help,» says Executive Director of the Lachine Hospital Foundation Monica Mcdougall. «Even the presentation is creative, with the donation made into a cake of cash!»
With help from Jocelyne Dagenais who is responsible for the residence's La Boîte à idées workshop, Mrs. Santerre and fellow residents Pierre and Denise Laurin, Maurice and Denise Perrier, Normand Dubuc, Micheline Desjardins and Louise Rondeau decided to sell engraved wooden bookmarks.
Over 1000 bookmarks were sold at the hospital and at a local IGA. (DC)
