Last Saturday, October 21, a special event took place at the Russell Curling Club in order to raise funds and awareness to Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES), in support of local family, Alex, Brittany and Carter Campbell. Little Carter lives with FPIES, which is a type of food allergy affecting the gastrointestinal tract. Classic symptoms of FPIES include profuse vomiting, diarrhea, and dehydration. Unlike typical food allergies, symptoms may not be immediate and do not show up on standard allergy tests. The event included a fashion show, as well as a silent and live auction, pictured, with proceeds going to Carter’s family.
