Aircraft parts in two hours
On the morning of July 31st, the 3AMS Commander , members of the propulsion workshop, representatives from Magellan Aerospace Limited and Peraton Canada staff officially opened a new propulsion procurement service window workshop. This service point, located in the 216 building's workshop, marks the beginning of a new engine maintenance contract with Magellan, which provides CF- 18 engine overhaul and repair services. What makes this new method so attractive is that delivery times for parts will now be much quicker. Peraton Canada is, in fact, committed to providing an engine part within two hours of a technician's request. With this new and fairly expeditious method of procurement, technicians in the propulsion plant will now be able to get the parts they need faster and thus repair the engines more efficiently. In doing so, the availability of engines for the squadrons will be greatly improved.
