CFB Bagotville now have his Deputy Commander
A major reorganization of the command structure of the Bagotville Canadian Forces Base begun on November 1st.
The changes may not be obvious at first glance, but they definetely are major changes that will affect Administration, Logistics and Operations.
The purpose of this reform is to consolidate the entire management of the Bagotville base as a place where various units of the Canadian Armed Forces such as 3 Wing, 2 Wing and the detachments of the Canadian Armed Forces services ( health, military police, dental, 10 EITA, etc.).
The most visible element of the reform concerns the names of the different units concerned. As a result, the logistics division becomes the Mission Support Squadron ( MSS), the Operations Division is now called the Operations Support Squadron ( OSS), and the Administration Division is now integrated with CFB Bagotville and is the responsibility of the Deputy Base Commander.
The head of administration is now the deputy commander of CFB Bagotville, whom is responsible for the day- today management of the Base.
In order to clarify the chain of command, some units change units. The food division passes under the responsibility of the MSS. For their part, the SIT group and the lessons learned section go to OSS. Finally, the Base's Finance Controller's Office, the Environmental Office and the Base Security Office are transferred to the responsibility of the Deputy Commander.
Thus, all units with a primarily domestic role are now grouped under the responsibility of the Deputy Commander. Units that have a more operational role or that can be deployed according to the missions assigned to the wings have been integrated into the chain of command of the MSS and OSS.
