Medical support in expeditionary mission
The 25th Canadian Forces Health Service Center in Bagotville, together with 5th Field Ambulance of Valcartier and other partners, participated in Exercise Serpent Fear, on October 6th.
The objective was to effectively monitor patients during the aeromedical evacuation of these from the opera- tional theater to a point of treatment, which in this scenario was the Bagotville Medical Clinic. The exercise also served to maintain the clinical skills of flight doctors and flight nurses. Lieutenant Commander Mildred CaseyCampbell and Lieutenant Roxane Langlois, Chief Medical Officer and Nurse in Bagotville, respectively. The exercise simulated the intervention of 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group in an international conflict. The role of the health units was then to provide care to the seriously injured while safely and expeditiously transporting them to a health facility that can take care of them.
