Rewards for Canada and his CF- 18 Demo Team in UK
The Royal Canadian Air Force CF- 18 Demonstration Team performed splendidly at the Royal International Air Tattoo ( RIAT), the largest air show in England, from July 13th- 15th.
The Canadian aircraft even received the prize for the best paint scheme on an aircraft. The CF- 18 demonstration jet this year was painted in the NORAD colors. It took part in this event held at Fairford Air Force Base in the Gloucestershire region for the first time in 10 years. This year the air show had over 300 aircraft from thirty countries show up.
Sergeant Marc- André David, head of the Eastern CF- 18 Demo Maintenance Team, traveled to England with the Canadian delegation. "We took part in some presentations during our stay in England, but the most impressive is the RIAT. It's a huge event. We have a big air show in Bagotville, but this one is gigantic," says Sgt David.
The 2018 edition was dedicated to the centennial of the Royal British Air Force, which greatly increased Canadian participation. In addition to two CF- 18s, including the demonstration aircraft, Canada also sent a CC177 Globemaster, a CC- 130 Hercules and a CP- 140 Aurora aircraft.
