60th Anniversary Flashback
#LC1957
Throughout the last six decades, Convocation at Lethbridge College is a time of celebration and appreciation. Convocation ceremonies at what was then called Lethbridge Junior College were held on Thursday, April 28, 1960, and were led by Dean Jim Cousins (centre, in hood with white trim). A total of 57 students had enrolled in the university, commercial and education courses offered at the college that year, and classes were held at the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute as the first building on campus wouldn’t open until 1962. This year, more than 1,530 convocates will receive degrees, diplomas or certificates from Lethbridge College, with nearly 650 of them expected to cross the stage at the Enmax Centre Friday.
