Outbreak at Fleetwood

Lethbridge School Division received notice on Friday that there is an outbreak at Fleetwood-Bawden Elementary School with two COVID-19 cases.

At this time, based on advice from Alberta Education, Fleetwood-Bawden Elementary School will remain open.

Alberta Health Services has proceeded with defining close contacts of the two cases within the school context, and those individual­s will be contacted by the school via email.

Those individual­s will be required to quarantine immediatel­y for the period defined by the close-contact letter.

The school division also announced that one case of COVID-19 has been identified at Coalbanks Elementary School.

Fleetwood-Bawden and Coalbanks, will proceed with normal school schedules on Monday.

Overall, Lethbridge has 157 active cases, down six from Thursday, and 671 recovered.
