Hud­son’s March Break re­gis­tra­tion un­der­way

Pa­rents an­xious to make sure their kids are hap­py and oc­cu­pied du­ring March Break have be­gun re­gis­te­ring this week for Hud­son’s host of Spring Break ac­ti­vi­ties.

The Hud­son Parks& Re­crea­tion De­part­ment says its Spring Fe­ver ac­ti­vi­ties will run from March 1 to March 5 at the Ste­phen F. Shaar Com­mu­ni­ty Centre, the Hud­son Youth Centre, école Saint-Tho­mas and the Hud­sonLe­gion.

The week will in­clude an All-Sports Day where par­ti­ci­pants from7-14 years old will ex­plore team sports with an em­pha­sis on co­ope­ra­tion and fair play.

Staff from Le Ni­choir Bird Re­ha­bi­li­ta­tion Centre will al­so be on hand to present a se­mi­nar on birds in­di­ge­nous to the area, as well as a bird­house pain­ting pro­ject.

Other high­lights will in­clude bin­go, soap ma­king classes, a vi­deo mo­vie day, a vi­sit by ani­ma­tors for ani­mal ba­sed Édu­ca­zoo, a Rock Band & Gui­tar He­ro vi­deo game tour­na­ment for teens, and a cur­ling game “ex­tra­va­gan­za” for ju­nior players.

In ad­di­tion, bud­ding ba­by­sit­ters will be able to si­gn-up for a St-John’s Am­bu­lance Ba­by­sit­ting Course, ta­king place on March 5 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Hud­son Youth Centre. The course will in­clude a ma­nual and a cer­ti­fi­cate upon com­ple­tion. Par­ti­ci­pants must be 11 years old by the day of the course.

Spring Fe­ver Ac­ti­vi­ties will conclude March 5 with a concert ta­king place from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. fea­tu­ring lo­cal teen bands.

Re­gis­tra­tion, on a first come first ser­ved ba­sis, be­gan this week and­will run un­til Feb. 26.
