Mrs. Ro­bin­son and Ben­ja­min Brad­dock have come to the Hud­son Vil­lage Theatre and anyone fa­mi­liar with the ico­nic 1967 film by the same name may want to take in a stage ver­sion adap­ted from the mo­vie more than se­ven years ago.

The Gra­duate will run at the Hud­son pro­fes­sio­nal theatre un­til Sun­day.

Set in 1960s Ca­li­for­nia, the play tells the sto­ry of col­lege gra­duate Ben­ja­min Brad­dock and the life les­son he re­ceives when be­gin­ning an af­fair with Mrs. Ro­bin­son, a fa­mi­ly friend and an as­ser­tive, se­duc­tive ol­der wo­man.

The stage ver­sion of the mo­vie that star­red Anne Ban­croft and Dus­tin Hoff­man was adap­ted in 2002 and was a suc­cess in Lon­don and la­ter Broad­way.

The Hud­son Vil­lage Theatre ver­sion features new and es­ta­bli­shed ac­tors in a show cal­led “com­pel­ling mix of co­me­dy and pa­thos.” It al­so has adult themes and brief nu­di­ty.
