Mor­gan Ar­bo­re­tum helps kids tap in­to na­ture

Af­ter the gifts are un­wrap­ped but be­fore ho­li­day bo­re­dom sets in, pa­rents can help their kids tap in­to a love of na­ture with a one day pro­gram being of­fe­red at the Mor­gan Ar­bo­re­tum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bel­le­vue.

A work­shop cal­led Get­ting Kids in Touch with Na­ture will take place star­ting at 9 a.m. on De­cem­ber 28.

And while the pro­gram is gea­red to­ward chil­dren it is sui­table for the en­tire fa­mi­ly. The mor­ning's ac­ti­vi­ties to be held out­doors (dress for the wea­ther) will in­clude a les­son about win­ter birds in­di­ge­nous to the region. Kids will al­so learn how to build a pine cone bird fee­der and will have Chi­cka­dees fee­ding out of their hands.

Par­ti­ci­pants will be trea­ted to hot co­co, while the event­will end­with a short walk to Blos­som Cor­ner. Space is li­mi­ted and there is a no­mi­nal fee (less than $5.) Re­gis­tra­tion dead­line is 4 p.m., De­cem­ber 27.
