Morgan Arboretum helps kids tap into nature
After the gifts are unwrapped but before holiday boredom sets in, parents can help their kids tap into a love of nature with a one day program being offered at the Morgan Arboretum in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.
A workshop called Getting Kids in Touch with Nature will take place starting at 9 a.m. on December 28.
And while the program is geared toward children it is suitable for the entire family. The morning's activities to be held outdoors (dress for the weather) will include a lesson about winter birds indigenous to the region. Kids will also learn how to build a pine cone bird feeder and will have Chickadees feeding out of their hands.
Participants will be treated to hot coco, while the eventwill endwith a short walk to Blossom Corner. Space is limited and there is a nominal fee (less than $5.) Registration deadline is 4 p.m., December 27.
