Taxes up slightly in Vaudreuil-Dorion
Vaudreuil-Dorion taxpayers will see a four percent increase on their municipal tax bills this year.
The 2011 budget came in at $53.7 million, which is up from$49.4million in 2010.
The budget includes a three cent increase in the mill rate - from 64 cents in 2010, to 67 cents in 2011-per $100 evaluation.
Mayor Guy Pilon noted that one cent of the three cent increase will cover costs generated for public transportation.
The town says that would add up to a $71 increase this year based on the average cost of a home evalued at $236,000. The town's water tax rate will stay the same as the 2010 rate which was $275.00 a year per household.
