Pincourt blood drive a success
A blood donor clinic organized by the Pincourt Volunteer Firemen's Association gathered enough pints of blood to help up to 420 people.
The goal of the drive, held January 17 in collaboration with the Chêne-Bleu High School, was to receive blood donations from at least 115 people.
Organizers, who say its takes a lot of time, energy and effort to put together each clinic, were happy with the 105 peoplewho heeded the call and gave blood.
"Each donation can help up to four people. Therefore, 420patientsthankyouforyourcommitmentanddedication," organizersnoted.
The volunteer firefighters also used the occasion to display a fire prevention booth where the town's Emergency and Public Safety Service offered a free smoke detector to each first-time blood donor. Repeat donors were additionally entered into a draw for a chance to win a smoke alarm.
