Lakeshore General hosting fundraiser in region
Efforts to cover ER renovation costs
The Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation is betting that people will want to dress up for a night of poker, food and fun.
The first annual LGH Poker Tournament will be held on March 18 at the Pavillon sur le Lac of Château Vaudreuil.
Organizers promise an "exquisite evening of cards" that will include three substantial cash prizes.
A full dinner buffet and access to a cigar lounge will be included in the price of admission, as will valet parking.
The event, being chaired by Beaconsfield councillor Rhonda Massad, will include appearances by local personalities.
All proceeds will help cover costs associated with the renovation of the Lakeshore General Hospital emergency room.

Dinner with dignitaries
Meanwhile, the foundation will host another emergency room fundraiser, called BR for the ER, on March 28 at the Bâton Rouge Décarie.
The event, that will be hosted by radio personality Chantal Desjardins fromCHOM 97.7, will be attended by Hudson Senator Larry Smith and sports personalities including Montreal Canadiens alumnus Vincent Damphousse, Scott Flory of the Montreal Alouettes and former Alouettes player Dave Mudge. CJAD personality Andrew Carter will also attend, as will CHOM's Pete Marier. A host ofWest Island politicians, including Yolande James, Minister of Families, and MNA for Nelligan and several mayors and town councillors will be part of the night.
Ticket prices include a four-course meal, a wine tasting, and an open bar. There will be live and silent auctions, with the live auction featuring such items as authentic jerseys autographed by sports legends Maurice Richard, Wayne Gretzky and Anthony Calvillo. A hockey stick autographed by the current Montreal Canadiens' roster will also go to the highest bidder.
