Hawkesbury Hos­pi­tal “Friends” give im­pres­sive gift

The Friends of Hawkesbury Ge­ne­ral Hos­pi­tal re­cent­ly do­na­ted $50,000 as part of on ove­rall pledge to the dis­trict hos­pi­tal, lo­ca­ted in Hawkesbury, On­ta­rio. The group has rai­sed funds for the past 25 years for the hos­pi­tal that serves a large por­tion of Vau­dreuil-sou­langes re­si­dents. In 2007, the Friends pled­ged to raise $125,000 to the hos­pi­tal but sur­pas­sed that ef­fort by $25,000. The fi­nal contri­bu­tion was $150,000.

Friends of HGH, es­ta­bli­shed in 1989, has do­na­ted more than $597,000 to the hos­pi­tal foun­da­tion since for­ming. More than 100 vo­lun­teers contri­bute an ave­rage 20,000 hours each year on such things as pal­lia­tive care, patient care ser­vices, pas­to­ral care, ad­mi­nis­tra­tive sup­port and the hos­pi­tal’s bou­tique and gift shop.
