Se­cond Pin­court BBQ work­shop to­night

An on­going se­ries of six free BBQ coo­king workshops will conti­nue to­night in Pin­court be­gin­ning at 7:30 p.m. at Olym­pique Park’s Des­jar­dins Kiosk. To­night’s me­nu will fea­ture goose and pork dishes which will be sup­plied from Do­maine De­la­haye. The Saint-Clet farm raises and pro­duces its own wild tur­key, geese and pork and does not use hor­mones, ad­di­tives, or me­di­ca­tions, ac­cor­ding to its web­site. All Do­maine De­la­haye foods are pro­du­ced in the com­mer­cial kit­chen at the farm. The same me­nu items from Do­maine De­la­haye will al­so be fea­tu­red du­ring the third work­shop in the se­ries, ta­king place on Ju­ly 11.

Pin­court Re­crea­tion and Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices Di­rec­tor Simon Gre­nier said the po­pu­la­ri­ty of last sum­mer’s inau­gu­ral BBQ work­shop se­ries, fea­tu­ring on­ly lo­cal­ly grown or pro­du­ced foods that are then pre­pa­red by lo­cal chefs, made it ea­sy to of­fer the se­ries again this sum­mer.

“This is an in­no­va­tive ac­ti­vi­ty en­dor­sing the cur­rent en­thu­siasm for cu­li­na­ry arts and coo­king on the grill... It al­lows us to show­case lo­cal cu­li­na­ry ta­lents and lo­cal pro­du­cers,” he said.

In ad­di­tion to to­night and Ju­ly 11, the Wed­nes­day BBQ workshops will take place Au­gust 1, 8 and 15. Al­ways at the same time and lo­ca­tion.

Each work­shop will in­clude a li­mi­ted num­ber of food tas­tings and the chance to win two door prizes per work­shop. All re­cipes fea­tu­red will be avai­lable on the Town of Pin­court’s web­site at www.vil­le­pin­
