Treasures in the Attic Saturday
Ahugely popular annual appraisal event will take place Saturday in Hudson. Treasures in the Attic, a fundraiser aiding The Greenwood Centre for Living History, features expert appraisers evaluating goods and items for a small fee. The event, often called Hudson’s own Antiques Road Show, after the popular television program, also features dozens of homemade apple pies baked courtesy of an army of volunteers. On hand Saturday will be experts in such fields as general antiques, carpets, arts and paintings, fashion and vintage clothing, jewelry, nostalgia items, fine art from Canada, Europe and America and antique books. A gold buyer and gemologist will also be on hand to purchase gold.
And as in years past, Treasures in the Attic will feature live and silent auctions, a tea room serving scones with jam and cream, apple pie (whole pies will be sold), coffee and tea. An antiques car display will be set up outside of the venue.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. September 15 at St. James Church, located at 642, rue Main, in Hudson.
