Trea­sures in the At­tic Sa­tur­day

Ahu­ge­ly po­pu­lar an­nual ap­prai­sal event will take place Sa­tur­day in Hud­son. Trea­sures in the At­tic, a fun­drai­ser ai­ding The Green­wood Centre for Li­ving His­to­ry, fea­tures ex­pert ap­prai­sers eva­lua­ting goods and items for a small fee. The event, of­ten cal­led Hud­son’s own An­tiques Road Show, af­ter the po­pu­lar te­le­vi­sion pro­gram, al­so fea­tures do­zens of ho­me­made apple pies ba­ked courtesy of an ar­my of vo­lun­teers. On hand Sa­tur­day will be ex­perts in such fields as ge­ne­ral an­tiques, car­pets, arts and pain­tings, fa­shion and vin­tage clothing, je­wel­ry, nostalgia items, fine art from Ca­na­da, Eu­rope and Ame­ri­ca and an­tique books. A gold buyer and ge­mo­lo­gist will al­so be on hand to pur­chase gold.

And as in years past, Trea­sures in the At­tic will fea­ture live and silent auc­tions, a tea room ser­ving scones with jam and cream, apple pie (whole pies will be sold), cof­fee and tea. An an­tiques car dis­play will be set up out­side of the ve­nue.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sep­tem­ber 15 at St. James Church, lo­ca­ted at 642, rue Main, in Hud­son.
