Hudson Artists hosting fall sale
Raffle and proceeds benefit NOVA
Artistes Hudson Artists will host an annual fall sale this week and weekend that will be kicked off Friday evening with a vernissage.
The 2012 fall edition of the Artistes Hudson Artists (AHA) Exhibition and Sale will run Oct. 19, 20 and 21 at the Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre, located at 394 Main Rd., in Hudson.
Proceeds will benefit NOVA Hudson, a non-profit organization that has been providing community health care in the Hudson and Saint-Lazare area since 1956. Nova nurses and volunteers, who receive no federal or provincial funding, offer respite and assistance to people suffering from Alzheimer’s, M.S. strokes, cancer and more. Nova Hudson also offers a volunteer driving program.
The non-profit Artistes Hudson Artists, an association that’s been in existence for 62 years, is comprised of 80 artists from Hudson and other Vaudreuil-Soulanges MRC towns. The association’s goal is to allow its artist members to exchange and share knowledge and experiences in most forms of visual arts through exhibitions and workshops.
The fall sale vernissage will take place Friday evening from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The exhibition, featuring original art works in a range of different styles and mediums such as watercolour, oil, acrylic, mixed media and more, will continue Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, AHA member, Barbara Darling has donated an original work of art to be raffled to benefit NOVA Hudson. To learn more about Artistes Hudson Artists go to www.artistes hudsonartists.com.
