Winter beach party aids dog rescue group
If listening to tropical music and dancing the night away sounds like a recipe for chasing the winter blues, then organizers of a fundraiser to aid Animatch, a l o c a l non- p r o f i t d o g adoption centre, have just the ticket this Saturday night.
An evening fundraiser featuring music by Los Mapaches, Sainte-Anne’s premier Latin Jazz Band, will take place on this Saturday, February 2, at Adair Hall, 24, rue Maple in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue. Participants are asked to break out their most colorful Hawaiian shirt, their craziest pair of Bermuda short, or their wildest summer dress or tie-die T-shirt. Prizes for the best dressed Beach Babe or Beach Hunk wil l b e a warded. I n addition, many unique items and art pieces will be raffled off.
A Mexican menu à la carte and refreshments will be available.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. Dancing will conclude at midnight. All proceeds will help Animatch find new homes for neglected or unwanted dogs through their dog adoption services. Tickets can be purchased in advance (10 $) or at the door (12 $). For tickets or information, c a l l Cl a ude Ai mée Vi l l e neuve a t 514 457-0323, or email losmapaches@ ymail.com.
