Amateur soup-chefs, come and stir your soup on
September 1st at the Vaudreuil-soulanges S.O.U.P. Festival!
The experiences of a soup-chef at the 2012 Festival…
This is great news for all of you that love a comforting soup! The S.O.U.P. Festival is specifically looking for amateur soupmakers. If you love to cook tasty soups that are full of the distinctive flavours of different cultures, now’s your chance to let us know about it!
Well… last year, the soup that my grandma (on my dad’s side) used to cook was a big hit at the Festival and it was all gone in under an hour… and I’m sure you’ll have the same experience! I have to admit I underestimated last year’s demand, but I’m treating it as a rain check, because we’ll be back again this year. The opportunity to serve “My Soup” is quite an experience!
Last year, over 3,000 visitors came to rock their taste buds and discover different soups from chefs all over Vaudreuil- Soulanges. So, express your creativity and dazzle us. If we want to have a great event, we need you to participate. I’m eager to taste your soup because, myself, I’ve come up with a mysterious new recipe straight from Japan. It costs nothing to participate, except your ingredients, your talent and your friendliest smile.
To register and for more information, go to our website at www.festivaldelasoupe.ca.
Make an appointment for Sunday, September 1st at Pointe-du-Moulin Historical Park, Notre-Dame-de-l’Île-Perrot, from 11:00 AM to 4:30 PM, rain or shine, but note that the soup is served between 11:30 and 1:30. Afterwards, the party continues with games, shows, performances and wagon rides. Bring along your chairs. It’s all free, even the park entrance and parking fees!
