Smooth sailing for Hudson Oka Ferry palliative home fundraiser
offered end-of-life palliative care at no charge to people of all ages with terminal illnesses. In its two years, the home has garnered praise and gratitude from the families of people who died there with dignity. It has also won numerous awards including the 2010 Ovations Gala “Coup de coeur,” and another Ovations Gala award in 2012. Most recently the centre was awarded the Silver Ladle during the 2013 SOUP Festival, and the 2013 Hommage bénévolat Québec, one of the highest government honors for volunteerism in the province.
