Smooth sailing for Hudson Oka Fer­ry pal­lia­tive home fun­drai­ser

of­fe­red end-of-life pal­lia­tive care at no charge to people of all ages with ter­mi­nal ill­nesses. In its two years, the home has gar­ne­red praise and gra­ti­tude from the fa­mi­lies of people who died there with di­gni­ty. It has al­so won nu­me­rous awards in­clu­ding the 2010 Ova­tions Ga­la “Coup de coeur,” and ano­ther Ova­tions Ga­la award in 2012. Most re­cent­ly the centre was awar­ded the Sil­ver Ladle during the 2013 SOUP Fes­ti­val, and the 2013 Hom­mage bé­né­vo­lat Qué­bec, one of the hi­ghest go­vern­ment ho­nors for vo­lun­tee­rism in the pro­vince.
