Nicholls named deputy languages critic
New assistant aims to improve English community ties
Vaudreuil-Soulanges MP Jamie Nicholls will return to the House of Commons today in his new role as Deputy of Official Languages Critic for the Official Opposition. He will take on the dossier with Acadie-Bathurs MP Yvon Godin.
Nicholls was named to the position last August when NDP leader Tom Mulcair reshuffled his shadow cabinet.
And in a bid to help Nicholls improve his relationship with the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Anglophone community, the MP has hired Heather Markgraf. Nicholls said Markgraf, who founded the Hudson Village Theatre in 1992, has strong ties within the English artistic community. “I am convinced that she will help me reach a great number of people,” he said in a press release. For her part, Markgraf wants to help Anglophone groups within and outside of the riding. Markgraf can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
NDP MP Jamie Nicholls recently hired Heather Markfraf to help him increase his relationship with the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Anglophone community.
