Former Vaudreuil-Dorion councillor running as independent
Céline Chartier-Sample says she is ready to again serve the residents of Vaudreuil-Dorion and is seeking to represent District 4, which is also known as “the Seigneurie” area of town, during the Nov. 3 election.
The independent councillor candidate who is seeking her fourth non-consecutive term, feels she brings “honesty, integrity and good listening skills to the citizens of our district 4 and to the town of Vaudreuil-Dorion.”
Chartier-Sample first represented District 4 on the town’s council from 2002- 2005. She also served as the District 3 councillor from 1998-2002, and as the District 6 councillor from 1989-1994.
She has lived in Vaudreuil-Dorion for the past 30 years and has also been involved in the community as a volunteer for places such as Maison Trestler, and the Red Cross, where she worked as a relief volunteer in Lac-Mégantic in July. She has been awarded the Red Cross Service Merit Diploma, the highest honor the relief agency awards volunteers.
“I have been actively involved as a resident, and as a former city councillor. My personal and professional experiences and implications in the different committees and organizations have given me a deep understanding of the diverse needs of our city,” ChartierSample said, adding, “As your representative for our district, I will be able to have a direct impact in the decision making of the town and in better representing the citizens.”
Her vision for the district is to enhance the quality of life for residents while remembering the impact her decisions can have on future generations.
Her vision for the town is keeping a healthy balance between economic growth and development while respecting the environment.
Chartier-Sample’s past works included serving on the Urban Planning Committee since 1998 and serving as a member and president of various school committees, as well as acting as a host family for exchange students. She was involved in the rebuilding of Chemin de l’Anse, the paving of Montée Cadieux and the creation of Parc de la Seigneurie. She also worked on the committee to supply drinking water from the city to the Tree Farm and Hudson Acres sectors.
