Thou­sands at­tend John Abbott open house

Close to 7,000 people in­clu­ding pros­pec­tive stu­dents and their pa­rents, at­ten­ded one of two open houses at John Abbott Col­lege Sa­tur­day.

Com­mu­ni­ca­tions Of­fi­cer Deb­bie Cribb said the Oct. 19 event that took place from noon to 4 p.m., gave po­ten­tial stu­dents the chance to check out the En­glish CE­GEP’s ma­ny pre-uni­ver­si­ty and ca­reer pro­grams. Es­pe­cial­ly po­pu­lar this year were tours of the new­ly com­ple­ted state-of-the-art Anne-Ma­rie Ed­ward Science buil­ding, where all science re­la­ted de­part­ments are grou­ped.

Close to 200 vo­lun­teers and tea­chers were on hand to en­sure that the open house ran smooth­ly. The next open house will be held at the Ste. Anne de Bel­le­vue cam­pus on Jan. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
