Ope­ra­tion Nez Rouge will launch its 30th sea­son Fri­day in or­der to give par­ty goers a safe way home this holiday sea­son.

The ser­vice that will de­but on Fri­day, Nov. 29 will run each Fri­day and Sa­tur­day for five conse­cu­tive wee­kends from 8 p.m. - 4 a.m. un­til De­cem­ber 31, 2013.

And vo­lun­teers Nez Rouge dri­vers wea­ring their dis­tinc­tive red vests will al­so be rea­dy to do the dri­ving on Dec. 24, 25 and 31. The an­nual safe ride cam­pai­gn that pro­vides those who feel un­fit to drive with an al­ter­na­tive to drin­king and dri­ving, will take place in 110 com­mu­ni­ties across Ca­na­da, in­clu­ding Vau­dreuil-Do­rion, where the Nez Rouge head­quar­ters will be set up at the L’Ac­tuel vo­lun­teer centre.

Vo­lun­teers nee­ded

And Nez Rouge or­ga­ni­zers are al­ways loo­king for vo­lun­teers willing to give their time, whe­ther for a few hours or se­ve­ral eve­nings. All vo­lun­teers must fill out an ap­pli­ca­tion form and un­der­go a scree­ning pro­cess. Af­ter the scree­ning vo­lun­teer dri­vers are put in­to teams mea­ning those who call for the ser­vice are ne­ver alone with just one vo­lun­teer. Vo­lun­teer Nez Rouge dri­vers do not charge for the ser­vice they pro­vide, though all do­na­tions are ac­cep­ted and go to­ward youth and sport pro­grams in each re­gion.
