Île-Perrot SAQ embraces giving spirit
Employees at the Île-Perrot SAQ outlet presented the VaudreuilSoulanges Palliative Care Residence, VSPCR, with a cheque for $1,450 after the store’s staff came up with a unique fundraiser.
The workers, led by store director Mario Tremblay, decided to reuse the often coveted wooden wine crates in which some of their vintages are delivered, selling the eye-pleasing crates for $5 instead of simply throwing them away. At the end of the six month-long initiative the employees said they were thrilled to realize they’d collected close to $1,500 for the end-of-life care home situated in Hudson. The home depends almost exclusively on such donations in order to continue offering free services to patients and their families throughout the region.
