Shiver Fest skating party picture perfect
Silly & Frilly run closing festival
Skaters and revelers of all ages took advantage of milder winter temperatures Saturday to attend Hudson’s Shiver-Fest Pine Lake Traditional Skating Party.
The Feb. 1 event included ice skating, as well as horse drawn sleigh rides, ice fishing demonstrations, and, the main event, the crowning of the Shiver-Fest king and queen.
Up next will be the final event of the winter festival, the Silly & Frilly Valentine’s Ice Bridge Run (or walk), which will take place on Feb. 9, with 4 K., or 12 K. courses.
The popular outdoor event is billed as a “fun run where everybody dresses up in something fun and frilly (or sexy...”) The 12 K. run will begin at 9 a.m., in the parking lot of the Hudson SAQ outlet, located at 502, rue Main, while the 4 K. event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Oka Ferry/Ice Bridge entrance, situated at 158, rue Main, near Bellevue.
For information about the run, call Kim Crossley, with Hudson Runners and Athletes, at 450 458-0762.
Lacing up to join the fun, parents helped their kids strap on skates before hitting the ice.
