Third annual palliative home walk damp but successful
More than 765 walkers and 163 volunteers participated in the 3rd annual Bourassa Boyer Walk for the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation on Sunday. The May 4 walk helped the Hudson-based home raise $158,000. Five simultaneous walks kicked off at 10 a.m. in towns including Hudson, Vaudreuil-Dorion, Notre-Dame- de-l’Île-Perrot, Rigaud, and Coteau-du-Lac. And though rain fell steadily throughout the day, it let up during most of the walk time. Sylvie Crevier, VSPCR Board of Directors co-president, credited the helping hand with the weather to the more than “500 angels who are looking down on us” who have passed away at the home since it opened its doors in September, 2010.
