Pincourt hosting skateboarding festival Saturday
Skatefest rolling out welcome
A special committee made up of Pincourt youths and for Pincourt youths is calling all skateboarding enthusiasts to attend a second annual skate festival taking place on Saturday.
The Pincourt Youth Action Committee collaborated with Quebec company Vision Twelve, which specializes in mounting such events, to organize Skatefest 2014. The event will run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m on June 28. at the Pincourt skatepark, located next to the OmniCentre, 375 Cardinal-Léger Blvd.
The day that will operate with a jam format, meaning more than one skateboarder can go down a ramp at a time, will also include music, barbecued foods, door prizes and more.
And the committee is challenging skateboarders to bring along their best skateboarding tricks for a little friendly competition. Participants will have the chance to win a $150 Nixon Blaster wireless speaker.
Last year Twelve Vision helped the town host its inaugural skate festival. The day was attended by more than 50 skateboarders.
All participants to Saturday’s event must wear a helmet. In the event of rain the festival will take place the following day, on June 29. For information contact Célia Corriveau at 514 453-2040, ext. 73.
The Pincourt Youth Action Committee is a municipal committee comprised of ten residents between 14 and 25 years old. The group’s goal is to give a voice to Pincourt youths while organizing activities and projects that will keep them engaged in positive things.
Skateboarding enthusiasts are invited to participate in the 2014 Pincourt Skatefest this Saturday.
