Les Cèdres ba­ker crow­ned queen of pies

Les Cèdres re­sident An­nie Booth was crow­ned queen of pies du­ring a grand fi­nale con­test that was held last week. Booth com­pe­ted against ba­kers from Les Cèdres and SaintLa­zare du­ring the an­nual con­test which was jud­ged by Les Cèdres Mayor Ray­mond La­rouche, Ka­rine Tes­sier, a mem­ber of Les Cèdres’s town coun­cil, Saint-La­zare coun­cil­lor Bri­gitte As­se­lin and Thierry Ju­vien, the SaintLa­zare Far­mers mar­ket or­ga­ni­zer, who is al­so a pas­try chef.

Booth, who made it i nto t he f i nal round to com­pete against S a i nt- L a z a r e r e s i dent s Jo­sée Ben­ja­min and An­dré Cha­rette, ul­ti­ma­te­ly won for her ver­sion of a ca­ra­mel-ba­na­na pie. Booth was awar­ded a gift bas­ket filled with $300 worth of goods and pro­duce from the week­ly far­mer’s mar­ket, held each Tues­day in the Saint-La­zare town hall par­king lot.
