Les Cèdres baker crowned queen of pies
Les Cèdres resident Annie Booth was crowned queen of pies during a grand finale contest that was held last week. Booth competed against bakers from Les Cèdres and SaintLazare during the annual contest which was judged by Les Cèdres Mayor Raymond Larouche, Karine Tessier, a member of Les Cèdres’s town council, Saint-Lazare councillor Brigitte Asselin and Thierry Juvien, the SaintLazare Farmers market organizer, who is also a pastry chef.
Booth, who made it i nto t he f i nal round to compete against S a i nt- L a z a r e r e s i dent s Josée Benjamin and André Charette, ultimately won for her version of a caramel-banana pie. Booth was awarded a gift basket filled with $300 worth of goods and produce from the weekly farmer’s market, held each Tuesday in the Saint-Lazare town hall parking lot.
