Town see­king mem­bers for fol­low-up com­mit­tee

Saint-La­zare is loo­king for —FOL­LOW UP a few re­si­dents to be­come mem­bers of a vo­lun­teer com­mit­tee ai­med at im­pro­ving li­ving condi­tions for youths, fa­mi­lies and the el­der­ly.

Three spots on a fol­lo­wup com­mit­tee that was for­med af­ter the town draf­ted its 2016 - 2018 ac­tion plan are open; two dea­ling with is­sues af­fec­ting fa­mi­lies, and one on files for youths .

The com­mit­tee has nine mem­bers in­clu­ding two elec­ted of­fi­cials, one com­mu­ni­ca­tion’s em­ployee and six re­si­dents. It deals with is­sues af­fec­ting se­niors (2 mem­bers), people li­ving with di­sa­bi­li­ties (1 mem­ber), fa­mi­lies (two va­cant po­si­tions) and youths (1 va­can­cy.) Mem­bers ad­vo­cate on mat­ters in­clu­ding trans­por­ta­tion, pu­blic sa­fe­ty, re­crea­tion, com­mu­ni­ty life, heal­thy li­fe­style, the en­vi­ron­ment, and more. Mee­tings are held, main­ly in French, about four times a year.
