Community aid group looking for families to help
A Vaudreuil-Dorion non-profit that was able to help more than 40 families last holiday season is looking for donations and volunteers in order to help more people this year.
Community —VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Wings, which is gearing up for its fourth annual Christmas Basket Event, is accepting applications from families in need of a helping hand this holiday season.
The organization also needs to find volunteer bakers and food prep helpers. Donations of gift boxes, tissue paper, tape and more are also needed.
Selina Richard, a Vaudreuil mother of two who founded Community Wings, said now is the time for people to come together to help those who may be down on their luck. “Last year we were able to help 41 families. Our aim this year is 50 families or more, and we know with help we can easily attain this goal,” she noted.
The gift basket event will take place in Vaudreuil-Dorion on Dec. 17, from 1 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Community Wings is a non-profit aid organization that distributes food, household goods, and gently used clothes and furniture to families in crisis in VaudreuilSoulanges and the West Island.
