Saint-La­zare pho­to­gra­pher fea­tu­red in ex­hi­bit

Works by a well known Saint-La­zare pho­to­gra­pher —ART will be pro­fi­led du­ring a month long ex­hi­bit get­ting un­der­way this week at the mu­ni­ci­pal li­bra­ry. A ver­nis­sage will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 1. Pe­ter Zee­man, who has won se­ve­ral pres­ti­gious pho­to­gra­phy awards across Ca­na­da, will present a col­lec­tion of some of his best work. The ex­hi­bit will run at the Saint-La­zare Li­bra­ry, du­ring re­gu­lar li­bra­ry hours, from Dec. 1-30.

Over the years Zee­man has fo­cu­sed his lens on a va­rie­ty of sub­jects in­clu­ding ur­ban set­tings and ru­ral land­scapes. A haun­ting black and white image that cap­tu­red an ur­ban church as it was re­flec­ted in a pud­dle on a cra­cked cob­bles­tone street, won Zee­man the pho­to of the month award du­ring the Mon­treal Ca­me­ra Club’s Life March 2015. In ad­di­tion, Zee­man has be­come known in ani­mal circles for his cap­ti­va­ting pet por­traits, which of­ten capture the ani­mals in na­tu­ral set­tings. Zee­man will be on hand du­ring the ver­nis­sage to ans­wer ques­tions and chat with guests. The Saint-La­zare Li­bra­ry is si­tua­ted at 1275, rue du Bois.
