Dorothy Dobbie's Gardening show on CJNU
You may already be aware of this, but if you are wondering where your radio gardening fix has gone, here’s the story.
After 15 years of bringing garden news and information to Manitobans on Sunday mornings, CJOB wanted to move the Gardener show to the afternoon. Host Dorothy Dobbie thought that this time slot would interfere with her summer gardening time and would also inter- fere with the busy schedules of her guests. It would also be unpopular with busy gardeners. So she picked up her mic and moved it to the Nostalgia radio station, CJNU 93.7 FM. While this little station doesn’t have the reach of CJOB. Garden junkies can still listen to CJNU on MTS Channel 725 or through their computers or mobile devices as well as on their FM radios.
“I have been on the board of CJNU for a half dozen years,” says Dorothy, who is vice president of the station, “and I felt a bit conflicted about broadcasting on a competitor, so all is well that ends well. I also like the idea of supporting a local station.”
Tune in every Sunday at 8:00 in the morning for all the usual guests plus a little touch of music to keep your day sunny. Go to the website at https://www.cjnu.ca/cjnu-stream/
