Hamblin a game time decision
Medicine Hat Tigers centre James Hamblin will be a game time decision for tonight’s 7 p.m. Western Hockey League matchup against the Kootenay Ice at the Canalta Centre.
The 18-year-old centre tweaked his knee during Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen and was absent from Saturday’s 4-3 overtime victory to close out the home-and-home set.
Tigers head coach and general manager Shaun Clouston added he does not believe the injury is serious, but they will be playing it safe with their 2014 first round bantam pick.
“We’ll find out a little bit more, we’ll get the doctor to check him out in-depth,” said Clouston. “He’s hopefully short-term, maybe even by the weekend. We don’t think it’s going to be long-term, we just want to make sure.”
Hamblin has collected four goals and 14 assists this season. Gary Haden stepped in to fill Hamblin’s role alongside winger Hayden Ostir and captain Mark Rassell for Saturday’s game against the Hitmen and logged an assist in the victory.
