Five new cases of COVID-19 reported in Hill County

Cases of the COVID-19 have risen in Hill County, Mont., which includes Havre, days after the area recorded its first new case in months.

Five new cases appear on the state’s Coronaviru­s tracking map for the county that sits across the U.S.-Canada border from Cypress County, Alta.

They include three teenagers and two men, aged in their 30s and 40s. That follows the discovery last week that a women in her forties had tested positive. The new cases follow from contact tracing.

Statewide, 44 new cases were reported Wednesday by health officials in Montana, which has a population of about 1 million. Of 1,371 total cases since March, 580 are considered active with 22 hospitaliz­ations at present. A total 23 people have died of the respirator­y disease.
