That perki­est of Cana­dian cho­co­late treats, the Cof­fee Crisp bar, turns 77 this year. It orig­i­nated in Bri­tain in the 1930s un­der an­other name be­fore mi­grat­ing to these shores.

In 1939, Cof­fee Crisp was of­fi­cially launched, and while there have been flavour vari­a­tions over the years — in­clud­ing or­ange, rasp­berry and even maple — cho­co­late and cof­fee re­mains the peren­nial favourite. (Fun fact: its fac­tory is lo­cated in Toronto.)
