when: Saturday and Sunday where: Royal Alberta Museum ( 12845 102 Avenue) Ever wanted to walk a Hollywood-inspired red carpet? Now’s your chance. In addition, the festival features Alberta indie films, live music, craft beer and most importantly: free popcorn. On Sunday they will screen family-friendly short films as well as some shorts created by students.

where: Haunted Sands Hotel (12340 Fort Rd NW) With Halloween just a couple of weeks away, now is the perfect time to indulge in all things horror, supernatural and sci-fi. This event, the first of it’s kind in Alberta, is a tradeshow for unique costumes and trinkets.

when: Saturday, 7 to 11 p.m. where: Fort Edmonton Park Call it homegrown horror: now in its 10th year, this theatre performance uses “urban lore and factual history” about the area to get viewers into the spirit of Halloween.
diwali Bazaar 2017
when: 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday where: The Meadows Community Recreation Centre Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, and the bazaar will feature Indian cuisine, pottery, home decor, traditional clothing, jewelry and henna. The colourful event is a great to immerse yourself in a vibrant culture.
Pop’s Chock’ lit shoppe
when: Friday, 7 to 11 p.m. where: Route 99 Diner To celebrate the second season of Netflix series, Riverdale, Route 99 Diner will transform into the fictional diner and offer free milkshakes to the first 200 guests. People will have the option of choosing between Betty (Old-Fashioned Vanilla) and Veronica (Double Chocolate), an Archie-style dilemma featured in the Archie comic series.
