Waf­fles make a great end-of-the­week treat, es­pe­cially when you add creamy pump­kin and the spicy rich­ness of car­damom.

• 1 1/2 cups spelt flour

• 3 tsp bak­ing pow­der

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/4 tsp ground car­damom • 3/4 cup milk

• 1/2 cup but­ter­milk
