Woodbine Avenue ‘bike At your leisure’
Toronto city councillors Mary-Margaret McMahon, left, and Janet Davis cut the ribbon and officially open a new protected bike lane on Woodbine Avenue on Saturday. “Bike at your leisure, pleasure, whatever — just congest the hell out of that bike lane,” Coun. McMahon ordered a horde of helmeted revellers crowding the corner of Woodbine and Danforth for speeches and a ride with free granola and lemonade at the end. The lanes were approved by city council last October as part of Toronto’s ambitious 10-year cycling plan.
