Hamil­ton judge who wore Trump hat sus­pended

Jus­tice Bernd Za­bel once said wear­ing a pro-Don­ald Trump “Make Amer­ica Great Again” hat to court the day af­ter the U.S. elec­tion was the big­gest mis­take of his ca­reer.

Cy­clist pinned un­der truck

A 40-year-old cy­clist was rushed to hospi­tal with life-threat­en­ing in­juries af­ter her leg was pinned un­der a garbage truck’s wheel Tues­day morn­ing in East York.

The truck was try­ing to make a right-hand turn on Cos­burn Av­enue from Don­lands Av­enue when it hit the cy­clist, Toronto po­lice Const. Clint Stibbe said.

The woman was bleed­ing heav­ily and had her leg pinned un­der the truck, Const. Jen­nifer­jit Sidhu said. The woman was freed by emer­gency crews and rushed to a trauma cen­tre with life-threat­en­ing in­juries, said deputy com­man­der Jamie Rodgers of Toronto Para­medic Ser­vices. TORSTAR NEWS SER­VICE
