Flynn quits as adviser
National-security adviser Michael Flynn resigned Monday night after reports he misled Trump administration officials about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.
In his resignation letter, Flynn wrote that “because of the fast pace of events, I inadvertently briefed the vice-president elect and others with incomplete information.”
He added that he was honoured to have served on the team behind what will “go down in history as one of the greatest presidencies in U.S. history.”
Vice-president Mike Pence had previously vouched for Flynn.
