Or not far enough?

StarMetro Vancouver - - NEWS -

With Vancouver’s vacancy rate below one per cent, one-bedrooms renting for nearly $2,000 a month and increased evictions, some Vancouver residents argue that the city should not be legalizing Airbnb at all. Jon Tittley, a 29-year-old renter, wrote to the city about enduring “bedbugs, openly racist landlords, a home with six roommates, unlawfully kept damage deposits and absurdly small amounts of hot water.… If short-term rentals like Airbnb are allowed to operate in the City of Vancouver, they are hurting the citizens who are stuck in awful living situations and preventing them from improving their situations.”
