Hydrogen gets Olympic platform

Elantra lighter, more nimble on its wheels

Metro Canada (Winnipeg) - - METRO DRIVE -

Hyundai’s Elantra compact sedan gets more aerodynamic styling, more horsepower and torque, and better fuel economy. It’s also lighter yet stronger through greater use of highstrength steels, and displays a more nimble driving nature with a revised suspension. Power output, fuel efficiency, comfort and safety features have all been upgraded with extensive use of new technology, said Yang Woong-Chul, vice-chairman of Hyundai Motor Group research and development. High-tech upgrades include a driver’s seat that remembers a driver’s preferred seating position, autonomous emergency braking, automatic high-beam dimming and blind-spot detection, as well as rear cross-traffic alert and hands-free auto-opening trunk.
