ADDRESS 180 Queen Street West

OWNERS David Lee, Yannick Bigourdan & Franco Prevedello

David Lee’s name has long been synonymous with great food in the city of Toronto, and Nota Bene is no exception. Recipient of EnRoute Magazine’s “Best New Restaurant in Canada” award, and named by Toronto Life as the “Top New Restaurant” for 2008, Nota Bene is steps from the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts and the Theatre District, bridging the gap between the bustling financial core of the city and the more funky reaches of Queen Street West. It is this combination of gravitas, performance and fun that continues to define and guide the restaurant. “Our goal is to deliver outstanding food and great hospitality in an atmosphere both polished and casual”, says co-owner David Lee. Chef Lee gained renown in Toronto at the award-winning Splendido with partner Yannick Bigourdan and that synergy thrives today at Nota Bene, where their partnership continues to set a high standard for casual fine-dining in the city. David’s versatility as a chef is highlighted by the global influence of his menus, the local focus of his ingredients, and the simplicity and care with which they are prepared. Nota Bene plays host to power lunches and celebratory dinners; after-work cocktails and snacks; pre-theatre prix-fixe meals, intimate dinners and large parties all.
