David Lee’s name has long been syn­ony­mous with great food in the city of Toronto, and Nota Bene is no ex­cep­tion. Re­cip­i­ent of En­Route Mag­a­zine’s “Best New Restau­rant in Canada” award, and named by Toronto Life as the “Top New Restau­rant” for 2008, Nota Bene is steps from the Four Sea­sons Cen­tre for the Per­form­ing Arts and the Theatre District, bridg­ing the gap be­tween the bustling fi­nan­cial core of the city and the more funky reaches of Queen Street West. It is this com­bi­na­tion of grav­i­tas, per­for­mance and fun that continues to de­fine and guide the restau­rant. “Our goal is to deliver out­stand­ing food and great hos­pi­tal­ity in an at­mos­phere both pol­ished and ca­sual”, says co-owner David Lee. David’s ver­sa­til­ity as a chef is high­lighted by the global in­flu­ence of his menus, the lo­cal fo­cus of his in­gre­di­ents, and the sim­plic­ity and care with which they are pre­pared.
