Michael Sum­mer­field is a 25-year res­tau­rant vet­eran and is the pres­i­dent of Pro­hi­bi­tion Gastrohouse (PGH), a full-service res­tau­rant and late night party place now cel­e­brat­ing its 10th year at Queen & Broad­view. PGH was con­ceived to appeal to a wide de­mo­graphic. “We have kids here for brunch and at night we evolve from a din­ner into a party place with a dance floor and DJ. When­ever you’re here, we want to make sure you have a great time!” Sum­mer­field de­scribes the food menu as “el­e­vated, global com­fort food” with truf­fle Mac n’ Cheese, Span­ish Con­ser­vas, crab cake slid­ers, and an oys­ter bar. PGH is com­mit­ted to us­ing the fresh­est in­gre­di­ents and cook­ing from scratch, in­clud­ing smok­ing their own meats and bak­ing their own bread. PGH of­fers two “Hooch Hour” pro­mo­tions be­tween 5-7pm and 10-11pm ev­ery day when all Ul­tra-Pre­mium Bar Rail, beers, and house wines are on spe­cial for $5.09. Michael just opened up the sec­ond PGH at 40 Eglin­ton East with a to­tal of 414 seats and a 120-seat pa­tio. He’s ex­cited about the new lo­ca­tion. “We be­lieve we have some­thing dif­fer­ent to bring to this neigh­bour­hood and we ap­pre­ci­ate the warm wel­come we’ve re­ceived!”
