ALEX COLVILLE

Yorkville’s Mira Go­dard Gallery will host the ex­hi­bi­tion Draw­ings and Prints, fea­tur­ing works of ac­claimed Cana­dian painter Alex Colville, Sept. 15 to Oct. 6. Re­cently, the Art Gallery of On­tario hosted a ma­jor ex­hi­bi­tion of works by the late East Coast artist best known for his magic-re­al­ism paint­ings such as 1965’s To Prince Ed­ward Is­land

NUIT BLANCHE

On Sept. 29, the city once again hosts the all-night art ex­trav­a­ganza Nuit Blanche with two down­town hubs, at Nathan Phillips Square and Yonge-Dundas Square, as well as the Scar­bor­ough Town Cen­tre. The Art Gallery of On­tario is host­ing this in­trigu­ing week­end, Sept. 13–15, of speak­ers and con­ver­sa­tions “fo­cused on shift­ing the cur­rent global in­ter­est in In­dige­nous arts to be one that is In­dige­nous-led.” The event is held in con­junc­tion with the Re­becca Bel­more: Fac­ing The Mon­u­men­tal ex­hi­bi­tion, on un­til Oct. 21.
