Long-term closures to begin on Friday
Changes made to facilitate Turcot work; Highways 40, 13 to see nightly shutdowns
As of Friday, the Highway 15 south access toward the Champlain Bridge from the Ville-Marie Expressway will be closed at 10:30 p.m. until some time in 2019.
The entrance to Highway 15 south from De La Vérendrye Blvd. will also be closed starting at 11:59 p.m.
These are the first two of several closures coming this fall as part of the Turcot Interchange reconstruction project.
Next month, there will be several other closures in the interchange, notably the Fort St. and the Lucien L’Allier St. entrances to the westbound Ville-Marie, the StJacques St. exit off the westbound Ville-Marie, and the Highway 20 west access from the Décarie Expressway. All the closures are expected to last until sometime in 2019.
There will also be several nighttime closures this week for provincial inspectors to examine the structures on Highway 13 and Highway 40.
Highway 40 eastbound was closed near Highway 13 overnight Tuesday. The entrance from southbound Highway 13 to the eastbound Highway 40 also was closed.
On Wednesday night, westbound Highway 40 will be closed at Highway 13 and the entrance from southbound Highway 13 to the westbound Highway 40 will also be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day.
On Thursday, the ramp from Highway 40 west to Highway 13 north will be closed and the entrance from Highway 13 north to Highway 40 west will be closed. The Highway 13 south entrance to the eastbound Highway 40 will be closed, and the service road on both sides of Highway 40 near Highway 13 will also be closed. The Thursday closures will all be from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
On Friday night, Highway 13 south at Highway 40 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. and the northbound highway will be closed at Highway 40 from 1:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.
